At Dirt Road Dahlias VT, we are committed to excellence and professionalism in everything we do. We take pride in ensuring great sanitary practices are followed. We clean our shears with 10% bleach solution when cutting and dividing. All tubers are properly stored during the winter in peat moss or vermiculite until they are ready to be inspected and begin the waking up process in the spring.

Thank you for choosing our product! Once you receive your tuber, please remove it from the package and inspect it right away. If you notice any damage, take a quick picture and reach out to us. Rest assured we personally inspect each tuber before packing, If you have any concerns, please reach out within 48 hours so we can address those concerns. Instructions will be included on how to care for your tuber(s) until ready to plant.
Storage until planting
Once inspected, leave the bags slightly open so excess condensation does not cause rot. Store them in a cool, dark area (55-68 degrees is perfect) until you are ready to plant outside. Do not store them in an area that could have temps lower than 35 degrees. If your tubers freeze, they will be destroyed. A closet or other area works fine for temporary storage.
